The first-ever Craft Beer LB Fest will take over the historic Rancho Los Cerritos this Saturday from 1:00PM to 5:00PM with over 10 local and neighboring breweries set to serve up their best brews during the family-friendly event.

Dennis Trilles, who organized the festival, is the founder and owner of Craft Beer LB, a local group of passionate beer drinkers who visit different businesses monthly both in and outside of the city in an effort learn more about craft beer.

“What inspired me to organize this event was I wanted to create the opportunity for the community to be able to see what Long Beach (and our immediate neighbors) has to offer,” Trilles said. “I wish for the craft beer scene in Long Beach to be more like a brotherhood instead of competition. I’m seeing that now with most of the breweries helping each other out.”

The brewers set to attend are:

  • Ballast Point
  • Beachwood Brewing
  • Belmont Brewing
  • Congregation Ales
  • Hog Canyon Brewing Co.
  • Dutch’s Brewhouse
  • Liberation Brewing
  • Long Beach Beer Lab
  • Rock Bottom
  • Smog City
  • Ten Mile Brewing
  • Timeless Pints

Technically four of the aforementioned breweries aren’t based in Long Beach, two of them are direct neighbors to the city and two have established local businesses.

“My wife and I travel often and when we do we choose cities that have a lot of craft breweries[…],” Trilles said. “It’s exciting to see Long Beach becoming one of those cities. When the law was changed in Long Beach to allow breweries to open, I decided I wanted to be involved and wanted to be the source for all things craft beer in Long Beach.”

The event is geared toward helping attendees discover new and existing breweries and beers in their neighborhood, Trilles said. Local restaurants Roe and the Red Leprechaun will provide food and four local bands will perform throughout the day.

Tickets start at $20 for general admission and go up to $40 for VIP passes, with a portion of the proceeds to be donated to Rancho Los Cerritos. Kids 15 and under get in free. For more information, visit the website here and Facebook event page here

Rancho Los Cerritos is located at 4600 North Virginia Road.
