Junior League of Long Beach (JLLB) is hosting their 7th annual Lunafest at Rancho Los Cerritos on Saturday, March 24.
JLLB is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism while researching and developing programs that are helpful within the community. JLLB has supported and launched more than 60 projects such as Confidence and Me, Especially Me! and Kids in the Kitchen.
This year’s theme for Lunafest is Cinema Under the Stars. The film festival is a fundraiser dedicated to promoting awareness about women’s issues and bringing the community together by showcasing short films highlighting women in film and women filmmakers.
Proceeds from Lunafest will allow JLLB to continue program development. The profits will also fund JLLB’s 2018-2019 upcoming community programs, including its work to combat bullying through a character development and life skills program for 5th to 8th graders, as well as a program geared toward helping the community eat healthier, according to the release.
Purchased tickets include either a blanket or cushioned folding chairs for attendees to sit on the lawn. Both options will include a picnic box meal, snacks at the appetizer and dessert table, beer and wine.
The event is from 6:00PM to 10:00PM. Tickets range from $60 to $70. To purchase tickets or for more information on the film festival, visit the website here.
Rancho Los Cerritos is located at 4600 Virginia Road.
