Welcome to Day Two of the LB Post’s Treasure Hunt.
Are you all packed up? Did you remember the stuffed animal?
OK, in the Long Beach Municipal Cemetery you will find the grave of a prominent man whose name rings a bell if for no other reason than there’s a road and a park in Long Beach with the same name.
If you’re thinking Stearns, think again. If you’re thinking Bixby, think one more time. If you’re thinking Wardlow, congratulations! You can stop guessing.
Now here comes the hardest part: Take a swig of the mead in the great man’s honor. If you didn’t do it, it’s OK because, let’s face it, mead is kinda nasty, especially when you drink it from a flagon.
This next part is more essential to your quest: Snap a selfie of you and the headstone — there’s more than one Wardlow headstone, any of which are fine with us — and post to Instagram with #lbposttreasurehunt (or you can email it to [email protected]).
Now head on over to the park that bears that name and await further instructions.
