The Long Beach Museum of Art, the city’s most established visual arts venue, is currently accepting applicants to its volunteer docent program. Docents provide tours of the museum’s exhibitions and assist with hands-on artmaking activities for local school children. No experience is necessary, just a desire to learn and an interest in sharing your love of art with children.
An informational open house will be held at the Museum on Thursday, April 3 at 10 a.m. The 12-week training session will be conducted from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of the month starting April 17.
New docents will join a wide circle of men and women who share similar interests and have the satisfaction of bringing the cultural heritage of the visual arts to museum visitors and school groups.
