On November 18, donating toys to children won’t just provide entertainment for the kids. Each donation means a ticket into a comedy show for patrons.
Former stand-up and comedy show producer Alan Katz of Long Beach will host the 15th annual Toys for Laughs Charity Comedy Show.
No tickets can be purchased for the show. Patrons must donate a toy worth at least $10, which will be donated to Long Beach local charity For the Child.
“I don’t do this for the fame or the glory,” Katz said. “I do it to put on a great show and to make a difference in a child’s life. Maybe this one toy can give them hope for a better future. The more we laugh, the more we live. This will be a night of laughter and of living and of giving.”
Over the years, Katz said the show has collected well over 1,000 toys.
Although the final lineup for the show has yet to be revealed, Katz said it will consist of nationally touring comedians.
The show will take place November 18 beginning at 7:30PM at the Laugh Factory, located at 151 S. Pine Ave.
