UPDATE 8:45am | The Long Beach Police Department has confirmed that officers shot and killed a pit bull last night after responding to a call that the dog had attacked and injured a man in Belmont Shore. The victim was not the dog’s owner, and had to be transported to a local hospital to tend to his injuries. More information will be available soon.

1:00am | Editor’s note: Details are few at the moment, but officers shot and killed a dog late Tuesday evening after the animal reportedly attacked a pedestrian and possibly more than one. The animal ran and the pursuit ended in Livingston Park at the St. Joseph intersection. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
