11:31am | Music Director Enrique Arturo Diemecke and the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra will present “Worldly Germans” on Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Terrace Theater in Long Beach. This is the second concert in LBSO’s 2011-2012 “Vienna Nights” Classics season, and features four composers of German lineage who settled in Vienna, Mexico City, Budapest, and London.
The concert begins with Mozart’s popular serenade, Eine kleine Nachtmusik, and continues with the West Coast Premiere of Maestro Diemecke’s Concerto Fiesta Otoñal for Marimba and Orchestra featuring guest artist Saúl Medina on the marimba. Next, the Orchestra performs Handel’s Water Music (selections from Suites No. 1 & 2). The concert closes with Haydn’s lively and final symphony, Symphony No. 104.
