Long Beach Symphony Welcomes Dancing Queens for ABBA Tribute

Tickets Available Now for Pops Concert Feb. 25

My, my, how can you resist Long Beach Symphony’s celebration of “The Music of ABBA” on Saturday, Feb. 25, with the beloved tribute band ARRIVAL from Sweden.

“It’s impossible not to want to sing along and dance to every chart-topping hit by ABBA, and so we know this Long Beach Symphony Pops concert is going to be so much fun,” said LBSO President Kelly Ruggirello. “We know our audiences are going to say ‘I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do,’ to joining us for this lively concert experience.”

Attendees will feel the beat from the tambourine, dance, jive and have the time of their lives as Long Beach Symphony Pops performs under the direction of energetic Guest Conductor Anthony Parnther.

A renowned conductor, bassoonist and contrabassoonist, Parnther is the music director and conductor of the San Bernadino Symphony Orchestra and Southeast Symphony & Chorus in Los Angeles, and he has recorded on an extensive list of major motion picture and television soundtracks by Hollywood’s preeminent composers.

The concert, with ARRIVAL from Sweden’s 10-member band playing and singing along with the orchestra, will feature ABBA classics such as “Money, Money, Money,” “Take a Chance on Me” and, of course, “Mamma Mia!”

ARRIVAL from Sweden is today’s leading tribute performance group featuring the music of ABBA. The Swedish band was founded by Vicky Zetterberg in 1995 and has toured in more than 70 countries—with 90 tours in the USA since 2005—and performed on TV and radio shows across the world, collaborating with more than 100 symphony orchestras worldwide.

“We feel blessed doing all the concerts making people dance and sing, and most of all making everyone happy. That is the meaning of this show, to spread ABBA’s music, love and passion,” said members of ARRIVAL by Sweden.

ABBA songs will rock the Long Beach Arena on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 8 p.m., with the doors opening at 6:30 for indoor picnicking, for those who bring or order picnics. And, bring your dancing shoes to take over the dance floor. Individual concert tickets start at $30.

The Long Beach Symphony Pops series sponsor is Farmers & Merchants Bank, with generous support from Josephine Molina and Heather Rudy.
