9:15am | Last Friday, Long Beach teenager Cheeravath Aphipunyo was named Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach.
Cheeravath is a senior at Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo High School where he has an exemplary academic standing and challenges himself by taking Advance Placement and Honors courses. Cheeravath is not only a member of the Clubs’ College Access Program (CAP), but also an active contributor to VoiceWaves, a local non-profit that encourages youths to tackle covering the Central and Western areas of Long Beach through journalism and media-driven projects.
Cheeravath will now go on to compete for the Los Angeles County Youth of the Year title in March of next year.
