The End of Summer Concert in the Park will bring the ’80s tribute band, Knyght Ryder to the Third District, thanks to a collaboration between Councilwoman Suzie Price and Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets and dancing shoes to Marine Stadium Park this Friday, September 18 from 6:00PM to 7:30PM.
“I’m excited to offer this end of the summer concert, and I am grateful for the partnership with Assemblymember O’Donnell that made this concert possible,” Councilwoman Price told the Post. “What I am most looking forward to is connecting with residents and interacting with those that I may have not met before. Events like this are so important to building and maintaining a healthy community.”
And while this summer season has certainly reminded us of its wrath these past couple of weeks, let’s be grateful for the unbearable heat while it lasts because, soon enough, the rain will surely scare us spoiled Southern Californians indoors. Don’t be afraid to sweat a little because Knyght Ryder is sure to have you dancing to that good ol’ 80s beat.
O’Donnell said that Knyght Ryder performed at last year’s event and the crowd “just loved them.”
“The year’s final Concert in the Park is shaping up to be one of the season’s best,” he said. “Marine Stadium Park is an ideal venue where we can spend the evening with family and friends while enjoying some great music. Collaborating with Councilwoman Price also provides us an opportunity to connect with the community on both state and local issues. We are very excited to host this family-friendly and truly Long Beach event.”
Marine Stadium Park is located at 5255 East Paoli Way.
