If you can’t wait to get a little taste of what the Folk Revival Festival will be bringing to Long Beach on September 27, head on over to Fingerprints tonight at 6:30PM to hear the Los Angeles-based roots duo Skin & Bones and Nashville-born Americana band Creekwood play just a small sample of their tunes.
Skin & Bones is a folk-and-blues duo with hints of alt-country and bluegrass. Taylor Borsuk’s soulful lyrics resonate in the hearts of even the most bitter, while Peter Blackwelder’s wailing violin, may cause one to seek out the golden tree-lined streets of nostalgia. Even those not able to attend the festival will want to hear just a hint of what this duo has to offer.
Creekwood’s “Juliana” reaches underground for its country music roots, while drawing from styles such as bluegrass and Old Time Country. This humble, yet catchy tune makes one feel like square dancing, while at the same time eliciting memories of a long lost loved one. The Americana band boasts the musical talents of Andrew McBride (guitar, lead vocals) Cooper Nelson (banjo, vocals) Mathias Chaidez (violin, vocals), Levi Duren (drums, vocals), and Rob Orr (bass, vocals).
