An estimated crowd of one thousand people got together in North Long Beach to get down to jazz music, dance and enjoy some food on Saturday during the Annual Uptown Jazz Festival.

With acts like Con Funk Shun, DW3, Boxcar Seven, Biscuits and Gravy Live and the The Susie Hansen Latin Band, people of all ages were able to have fun on the dance floor.

Amid the free community concert, Natasha Mata, Wells Fargo region bank president, presented a check for $175,000 to Councilman Rex Richardson to start the Uptown Community Development Corporation to help start and grow businesses in the district.
