Year round, Long Beach Independent brings smiles to local music lovers, but in December, they also focus on lighting up the lives of children.

secret-santa-121214For a sixth year, the organization that highlights Long Beach musicians will host Secret Santa’s Toy Drive, in partnership with Christian Outreach in Action.

“COA is on Elm & 3rd street and is a nondenominational, nonprofit organization that has been serving the community for 27 years,” according to Long Beach Independent’s website. “They feed the homeless, give out clothing and help people get back on their feet with great programs. Every year they hold a holiday party that serves almost 2,000 kids here in LB. We have seen the need for this event grow and grow over the years and while we only donate a small portion of their toys it is a great feeling to give directly back to our community.”

The toy drive, which takes place December 12 at the new MADE in Long Beach pop up shop in Downtown Long Beach, will also include performances by Bobby Blunders, the Black Noise, Forest of Tongue and MOVE.

Admission into the all-ages event is a new, unwrapped toy valued at $5 or more, or a $7 donation at the door—which goes to buying more toys.
