Take your lunch break outside this afternoon at Pine Avenue and Ocean Boulevard during the new “Lunch at the Loop” Friday event series.

Sponsored by the Long Beach Downtown Development Corporation, Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DLBA) and Millworks, the first of the series kicks off this afternoon from 11:30AM to 2:30PM with live music at noon courtesy of bluegrass band Brother Pines.

Buono’s Authentic Pizzeria will also have food for sale and seating, tables, shade and games will be provided.

If you can’t make it to this first event, “Lunchtime at the Loop” will take place every Friday in September. Next week, guests can expect to hear indie folk music from prolific local musician Alyssandra Nighswonger, with food for sale from Buono’s.

On Friday, September 22, Brazilian music by Bobby Easton and Brazilian Sound System will fill the downtown street corner, with food for sale from Linden Public. The last Friday of the series on September 29 will feature musical selections by Rebecca Lynn and Matt Cohn, also with food for sale from Linden Public.

Since The Loop officially opened in April 2016, the colorful structure has drawn passersby and attendees of events like Live After 5 to the 7,700-square-foot space that previously unused. And now, surrounding the space, two Pow! Wow! Long Beach murals can also be checked out with a quick walk to and from the parking lot below. For more info, visit The Loop’s website here
