Violinist and Long Beach Symphony Orchestra (LBSO) Concertmaster Roger Wilkie is performing In Recital this Thursday evening, November 19th, at 8:00PM in the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center.
He’ll be accompanied by Los Angeles Philharmonic Keyboardist Joanne Pearce Martin. The concert will feature works by Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Franck.
Wilkie has served as concertmaster of the LBSO for 25 years, and worked on countless film scores, including the much-anticipated Star Wars, Episode VII.
In this interview, Wilkie speaks about growing up in a musical family, his discovery of the violin, working with famed film composer John Williams, and the music he’ll feature in Thursday’s concert.
