North Long Beach residents have more options for grocery shopping beginning today, thanks to the opening of a new Northgate Market location.

To celebrate the grand opening of the franchise’s 40th store, located at 4700 Cherry Ave., the store hosted a grocery giveaway in which the first 300 shoppers received a reusable bag with free groceries.

The store also offered free item samples and coupons at the event, as well as hourly savings throughout the day. These promotions will be posted on the store’s Facebook page.

The new Long Beach location of Northgate Market features a full service bakery, produce, tortilleria, hot deli, flower shop and butcher shop.

Northgate Market offers 40 locations throughout Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange Counties.
