From Noon until midnight on Saturday December 13th, {open} will celebrate 5 years in business with a retrospective of sorts, featuring performances, art exhibitions, and a sampling of their on-going events.
{open}, primarily a book store, first began in the East Village where it acted as a cultural hub for the burgeoning neighborhood. At the height of its success there, co-owners Shea Gauer and Sé Reed recognized an opportunity to become a part of the 4th Street Retro Row and relocated.
Since then, they haven’t looked back, and have worked tirelessly to activate and vitalize the area. Working with innovative artists, authors, and performers, they’ve carved out a name for themselves as purveyores of quality.
{open} is located at 2226 East 4th Street, between Dawson and Junipero. More information, including a detailed schedule of events for the day, can be found at TheStoryOfOpen.com. Snacks will be served.
