Terry (the little furball at right) says he can lick just about anyone—and he has the tongue to prove it. This little guy was dumped off in a box with two other brothers. The two other little pups were adopted, but Terry needs a home. He is about 12 weeks old and has been neutered. Contact [email protected] to take Terry home.

Pet Projects

Sunday, July 11: Belmont Shore Pet Fair.
Get out your sunscreen and dab a few drops on the dog’s sniffer. Chuck and Toby, the pet bakery-avec-boutique, has cooked up more than a few biscuits for their much-awaited grand opening. The former owners of the old Wiskers will feature a day of fun for pets and their people. A portion of Park Avenue at Second Street will be closed to traffic, and there will be vet advice from Cats & Dogs Animal Hospital, spa services (like nail trimming and a chiropractor from Wolff Chiropractic—pretty good name for dog services), and lots of organizations, vendors and games. Don’t have a pet? Cat and dog adoption groups will help you fix that. Come and romp from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. on Park Avenue and Second Street in Belmont Shore, near 191 Park Ave.

Sunday, July 18: Get out your hankies: Friends of Long Beach Animals fund-raiser to take place at the Art Theatre
. Hachi: A Dog’s Tale, will play at the Art Theatre, 2025 E. 4th St., at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday,  July 18. The screening will be a fund-raiser for Friends of Long Beach Animals (FOLBA). Hachi stars Richard Gere and is a heartwarming and inspiring true story of an Akita who accompanied his master to the train station every day as he left for work and met him there each evening when he returned. The film embodies the strong loyalty, love and respect bonds that form between human and canine.

The suggested donation is $10. Tickets will be available at the Art Theatre, online at arttheatre.com or at the locations below. All proceeds will go toward FOLBA’s Spay/Neuter Incentive Program (SNIP) and all the organizations other efforts toward humane education and treatment of animals.
