11:00am | The Long Beach community and visitors are invited to celebrate the Queen Mary’s annual Christmas tree-lighting party from 5:30pm-8:30pm tomorrow, December 7. In honor of Pearl Harbor Day, the event will also pay tribute to local military, fire and police heroes.
Now in its 18th year, this Long Beach tradition is free to attend, accompanied with complimentary refreshments and parking. Guests will enjoy seasonal songs from roaming Victorian carolers and a preview of the ship’s new holiday light display. Additional sounds of the season will be provided by Coro De Los Cantos Bellos from Flowing Wells Junior High in Tucson, Arizona under the direction of Jose “Chach” Snook and accompanied by Dr. David Gale; and the International Children’s Choir of Long Beach and the 186th Street Elementary School Chorus under the direction of Stephen Bullard. Parents are encouraged to bring a camera as children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa following the last musical performance.
