The City of Long Beach has announced that registration for the more than 400 classes it is sponsoring for its winter session takes place next Monday, November 2.
According to Jane Grobaty, the superintendent of Community Information, the new session includes new classes for those aged 50 plus, as well as youth—notably, a week-long winter school break, art and engineering camps and a healthy cooking class.
“Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) wants all residents to start the new year with new ways to stay active and healthy,” said Grobaty in an email to the Post. “There are dozens of dance, fitness and sports classes, as well as swimming and water exercise programs, and tennis classes to make achieving one’s fitness goals attainable and fun.”
The classes begin in December 2015 and last through February 2016. Other offerings include events for the entire family, adult sports leagues and aquatics programs.
Beginning next Monday, the “Recreation Connection” book will be available at park community centers and city libraries. Click here next week to view the book online.
