Getting a Halloween costume can be pricey, especially when you consider the fact that you won’t be using it again next year. But one Long Beach group is aiming to make them more affordable. In fact, they’ll have no cost at all.
Seven-Ten Swap, a free monthly event hosted by the Long Beach Free Store, will host a free Halloween costume and decoration swap this weekend, where residents can bring in old costumes and trade them with others.
“The event works like a community rummage sale – but with no money,” said Long Beach Free Store spokeswoman Sharon Moiseiff. “People can just come and give items away, while they find something to take home – for free. The Long Beach Free Store creates opportunities for people to share while they make connections and build community through the act of sharing their stuff. Swapping allows for reuse – which is great for the environment and a great way to save money.”
The Seven-Ten Swap will take place Friday, starting at 6:30PM, at 635 Pine Ave. All items need to be in clean, good condition.
