The Long Beach Ronald McDonald House will host its 2nd Annual Car & Motorcycle Show this Saturday, September 13 from 9:00AM to 3:00PM, where friends and family can join together to enjoy 200-plus automobiles and motorcycles, a skate and BMX demo by Ask Foundation, skateboard lessons by Skatedog and a Wheel Fun Interactive Kids Zone, alongside great food and music. The show will be at the Long Beach Convention Center Back Lot and Rainbow Lagoon.
Funds raised through car entries and sponsorships will benefit the House, enabling it to support and help families as they handle the physical and emotional stress involved with taking care of a critically-ill child undergoing medical treatment. Registering a car or motorcycle is $40, while attending the event is free of charge.
According to The Long Beach Ronald McDonald House’s bio, the organization is “a program of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California (RMHCSC). Since 2011, the House has helped thousands cope with the physical and emotional stress of having an ill child who is undergoing medical treatment. RMHCSC provides comfort, care and support to children and families in Southern California through a number of programs and services including: Ronald McDonald Houses which offer low-cost, and often free, temporary housing for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby medical facilities; Ronald McDonald Family Rooms which serve as an “oasis” inside of hospitals where parents can be near their children in the pediatric intensive care and neonatal intensive care units; and Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, which provides children with cancer and their families an opportunity to experience a sleep away camp environment, free of charge.”
