“Stomp,” the internationally celebrated percussive show known for creating gritty rhythmic musical numbers out of everyday items like brooms, garbage cans and shopping bags, will be performing at the Terrace Theater this weekend, marking the show’s first return to Long Beach in over a decade.

“Stomp” will be in town for two days on Thursday, March 2, and Friday, March 3, before continuing its U.S. tour. The 105-minute show will feature many of the iconic numbers (and props) audiences have seen before, such as the brooms, trash cans and the fan-favorite Zippo lighter performance. But this season “Stomp” is introducing three new numbers, some of which have been reimagined with different props.

Tickets for “Stomp” at the Terrace Theater range from $43-78 and may be purchased online here or by calling (800) 982-2787. Shows for “Stomp” start at 8 p.m. on both days.

The Terrace Theater is at 300 E. Ocean Blvd.

Long Beach musician Jesse Wilder is no novice at bringing together talented musicians to create special concerts that perform some of the most loved albums from front to back. But now the long-time musician is introducing something new and original with his band Blu Aux, which will be performing tunes from its new album “Circle Sentences” at Vine on Retro Row Friday, March 3.

“Circle Sentences” is an indie rock album that features all the ideas and experimenting Wilder had been toying with for several years before finding the time to record, with “baritone vocals over big harmonies and spacey odds and ends.” Also included in the lineup Friday night are bands the Killingtons and Andy Stavas.

The show is free to attend and starts at 8 p.m.

Vine is at 2142 E. Fourth St.

“Having undergone a forced two-year isolation in the recent past, this body of work is honest and unfiltered, exploring their most intimate personal narratives, revealing psychological and historical insights through a variety of approaches and media,” Yulia Gasio, assistant professor of foundation studies and drawing/painting programs at CSULB, said in a statement.

Opening day is Sunday, March 5, from 1-4 p.m. The exhibition is free to attend.

LONG BEACH SYMPHONY PLAYS POWERFUL CLASSICAL CONCERT WITH CARL ORFF AND ANA LARA COMPOSITIONS – TERRACE THEATER (Saturday)

In a concert of powerful musical extremes, Long Beach Symphony presents Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” and Ana Lara’s “Angeles de Llama y Hielo.” Under the direction of Maestro Eckart Preu, the symphony’s talented musicians will perform with soloists Anna Schubert, Ashley Faatoalia and James M. Schaefer as well as Long Beach Camerata Singers, South Bay Children’s Choir, and returning to Long Beach, the audience-favorite Silver-Garburg Piano Duo.

Orff’s “Carmina Burana,” which debuted in 1937, is the German composer’s most famous suite of works based on several medieval poems exploring the joys of the tavern, nature, love and lust. Lara’s “Angeles de Llama y Hielo”—or “Angels of Fire and Ice”—ignites the stage with music by one of the most notable, versatile and respected Mexican composers of the modern age.

Long Beach Symphony takes the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the Long Beach Terrace Theater. Doors to the concert hall open at 6:30 for a 7 p.m. pre-concert talk that promises additional insights into the evening’s music. Individual concert tickets start at $32. For tickets, visit LongBeachSymphony.org or call 562-436-3203, ext. 1.
