Who was it they used to call the hardest working man in show business? James Brown? Mitch McConnell’s eyebrow wrangler?
Whatever.
Today, a case could be made for MC Chris; rapper, writer, voice actor who will be appearing tonight at 7 p.m. at Toxic Toast Theater.
MC Chris has turned out about 20 albums in 19 years, including a couple for kids, some compilations as well as 10 full-length works, the most recent being 2018’s “MC Chris Is Good Music.” His music has been featured in Kevin Smith films, “Broad City” and Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance?”
If you’re familiar with the name but not the music, it could be because you’ve seen it in the credits of such Adult Swim classics as “Sealab 2021,” “The Brak Show” and “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” all of which he did some writing, animating, acting, performing or all of the above. Regarding performing, he voiced MC Pee Pants on ATHF and that’s all that needs to be said about that because that is awesome.
Another great thing: The “Sealab 2021” theme song, by Calamine, is the greatest this side of “One Punch Man’s” “The Hero.” Who wants some?
Giving us a moment’s pause: There are stories of MC Chris throwing people out of his shows, but that may just be part of the show. Honestly, we have no idea, you’re on your own.
