FRIDAY, JAN. 10

The Moonlight Mash community will be taking their first, monthly night ride of the year tonight. Now, they schedule these for the first full moon of every month, so it’s only fitting that the first theme of the year is all Star Wars-y. Participants are asked to don their best Baby Yoda, Jedi and Chewbacca costumes, though we believe latter costume present issues in maneuverability and chafing.

And, since it will be night and you will be on a bike, you should bring a light and a helmet, that goes without saying in any galaxy.

You’ll be meeting up at 7:45 p.m. at Pedal Movement (223 E First St.) and rolling out at 8 p.m.  The ride will end at Trademark Brewing (233 E Anaheim St.) where you’ll be able to enjoy a bit of refreshment while freaking everybody else out. And isn’t that what Stars Wars is all about?

No, seriously, is it? We were never really into sci fi.

Another great thing: Moonlight Mash has teamed Long Beach Bike Share to offer bicycle rentals at a discounted rate. Sign up using this link. It’ll cost you just $2, then get an hour of ride time for free! After that, you’ll just pay the $7/hour rate.

Giving us a moment’s pause: The sheer tonnage of Baby Yoda’s on handlebars.

Moonlight Mash meets at Pedal Movement, located at 223 E First St., at 7:45 p.m. with rollout at 8 p.m. For more information, click here.
