It’s Day 5 of the Long Beach Post Treasure Hunt and you still haven’t found the treasure? Maybe you’ve been heading in the wrong direction. Let’s try something totally different. Here, have a horse. Now, where in Long Beach can you ride it?
No, the place you’re thinking is in Lakewood, but go ahead and go to the place in Lakewood where you can find a horse, then ride that pony up north on the San Gabriel River Trail to South Street, where you’re gonna wanna hang a left and ride (we’re pretty sure by now it’s illegal to be riding a horse so you’ll want to go to the whip to outpace John Law) and go almost 4 miles, a half-gallop past Cherry. Let the horse do the rest, a right, a left, another right, another left and stop before you fall into the creek.
Take a nice picture of the natural setting in the new Gem of the North which goes by the name that’s Spanish for “From Forest,” now unsullied by the city leaders who recently held a celebration of the opening of the place. Make sure that picture proves you were at the right spot. Wear the cowboy hat if it pleases you, then get rid of it. It’s outlived its usefulness.
Post the picture to Instagram (#lbposttreasurehunt) or email it to [email protected].
Caveat: Our team of underworked attorneys insists that you don’t do hardly anything we tell you to do. We had to fight like mad just to keep the cowboy hat part in. Here’s our attorney’s entire manifesto.
