The 33rd annual JetBlue Long Beach Marathon held much excitement (and anxiety) for runners as well as for spectators over the weekend.
Hailing from Simi Valley, Liz Camy-blackwell, 34, finished first among females with a finish time of 2 hours, 47 minutes and 30 seconds. Patrick Fernandez, 30, of La Verne, clocked in at 2 hours, 25 minutes and 39 seconds.
While these two California residents scored the top prizes for the full marathon portion of the event, the real winners—in this reporter’s humble opinion—were the supporters who got creative with their sideline signs.
