Darryl Mapp works at the Long Beach Senior Citizens Center by day and plays music on the back of his friend Joe Cardinal’s truck by night. Together they make up the band, Classics, a blues and soul group featuring Cardinal on the bass and tuba, Mapp on the piano and occasionally, Cameron Vodegel on drums.

The group travels around Long Beach and the surrounding area, performing on 2^nd Street in Belmont Shore and on the Seal Beach Pier. Mapp, who says he’s been playing for as long as he can remember, has an obvious passion for his art form and continues to share it with the people of Long Beach.
