If you’re into mingling with new friends, tasty chili and carving pumpkins, then you may be just the person We Love Long Beach is looking for.
We Love Long Beach, a non-profit that aims to unite neighbors, is looking for individuals who are willing to host a block party in their front yard on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 2:00PM – 4:00PM. While hosting a party may be a daunting task, the hard work won’t be left completely to the host.
While the non-profit encourages hosts to invite one to three people to help set up the event, We Love Long Beach will provide you with a cookout checklist, flyers for the event and pumpkins for the entire block. The host will receive ‘We Love Long Beach’ stickers and t-shirts.
Those who are willing to provide their front yard will be expected to go door-to-door, inviting residents of their block to the party. Hosts are also encouraged to invite one to three neighbors to help out with the event by brining drinks, pumpkins, chili bread or whatever else they can contribute toward the party.
We Love Long Beach’s main purpose in organizing these parties is to encourage pride and ownership of the city, while creating friendship among neighbors.
If hosting the best party on the block is a task you’re up for, contact We Love Long Beach at [email protected]. Don’t forget to take photos of your party and tag them #welovelb.
