
A free public reception for Youth Driven, a multi-media visual art exhibition featuring the work of more than 80 local middle and high school students, is taking place this Saturday, May 23rd, from 7 – 9 PM, at the 2nd City Council Art + Performance Space. The reception will include performances by Miles Van Dusen & Sam Gans, A Delicate Balance of Sound, Victor Perez, Barbara Kramer, Paul Murufas, Kendall Brinkley, Visions Poets, Brandi Humphries, and Eddie Rodriguez.
Local Artist Margie Darrow, a member of Fallopian Artopians, worked as a mentor with students involved in the show and will be on hand for body painting.
The gallery is located on the West side of Alamitos Avenue, just South of 5th street, at 435 Alamitos Avenue. The gallery’s regular hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 to 5 PM. The show is open now, and runs through June 17th.
