A man is expected to survive after being shot following a verbal altercation in the 900 block of Olive Avenue near Downtown late Friday evening, police said.
Long Beach officers did not say when the shooting occurred exactly, but said they responded to a local hospital regarding a report of a “non-life-threatening” gunshot wound victim around 7:44 p.m. Friday.
After the shooting, the assailant fled and the injured man transported himself to the hospital, police said.
The shooter has not been arrested, authorities said.
A second but unrelated shooting occurred early Saturday in North Long Beach at the intersection Market Street and Locus Avenue. At 1:53 a.m., police said a woman opened fire at a vehicle, but no one was injured.
The woman fled the scene before officers arrived, authorities said.
