A man is expected to survive after being shot in the upper and lower body in the Coolidge Triangle neighborhood in North Long Beach early Sunday morning, police said.

Just after midnight, officers were dispatched to Long Beach Boulevard near Scott Street regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call, police said. Officers found the victim with his injuries, and he was transported by the Long Beach Fire Department to a local hospital, police said.

Police said they found evidence of a shooting, but did could not specify the type of evidence. They added that the type of gun used is unknown, and there is no suspect information.
