A fire at a two-story house in North Alamitos Beach Friday afternoon killed two dogs and left seven people displaced, including an infant, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.
The single-alarm fire was reported on Friday, May 6 on the 1600 block of East 7th Street at 2:53PM with firefighters arriving two minutes later, LBFD spokesman Brian Fisk said. The fire was knocked down shortly after. Firefighters had to cut a hole in the roof for ventilation as well, he added.
Fisk said firefighters discovered two dogs dead once the flames were put out.
The fire, which originated from a bedroom, remains under investigation.
