A 3.7 earthquake off the Southern California coast near Hermosa Beach sent shock waves across Long Beach, Torrance and other nearby cities.
According the United Stated Geological Survey, the quake began at 6:55 p.m.
“Tonight’s M3.7 off Hermosa Beach is near the Palos Verdes fault with a compatible thrust faulting mechanism,” seismologist Dr. Lucy Jones tweeted. “Caltech’s fault associator gives it 46% chance of being on the PV fault. Second quake today and third this week in that vicinity.”
People took to social media from different cities to say they felt the tremors.
