Long Beach police cited five people during a DUI checkpoint Friday in the city’s East Division, authorities said.
A total of 1,948 vehicles made their way through the checkpoint, which was held on Seventh Street and Federation Drive in Alamitos Heights from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Police screened 449 drivers, citing five for operating a vehicle without a license or driving with a suspended license, the Long Beach Police Department said Saturday morning. No arrests were made.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
