More than 80 physicians and doctors at Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital Long Beach have been named on the 2015 Southern California Super Doctors List.

The annual report recognizes the top five percent of active doctors in Los Angeles County and Orange County through peer recognition and professional achievement.

This year, 81 doctors and physicians from Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children’s Hospital were recognized.

Long Beach Memorial has seen their number of doctors recognized by the list increase by more than 50 percent since 2012, according to a statement.

“Each year, we see more of our physicians recognized for their excellent quality of work and the compassionate care they show to our patients,” said Divya Joshi, M.D., MMM, chief medical officer, Miller Children’s in a statement. “It is wonderful to know that every child entering our doors will be so excellently taken care of, and to witness the growth of new programs aimed at managing complex conditions.”

Of the 81 physicians and doctors recognized on the list, four are making their first appearance on the list in 2015.

“The physicians we recruit are not motivated by public recognition, but driven by their dedication to our patients, their families and the community they serve,” said Susan Melvin, D.O., chief medical officer, Long Beach Memorial, in a statement. “Their passion to find advancements in clinical care has proven to greatly improve the lives of the many adults and children who have walked through our doors. On behalf of my colleagues, I can say we are all proud to work alongside so many awarded physicians.”
