Editor’s note: At 9:47 a.m. Monday morning, California Highway Patrol announced that the man had been found. According to Long Beach police, Willis was found at a local medical facility in Long Beach.

Police are seeking the public’s help locating an elderly at-risk man from Sylmar who went missing in Downtown Long Beach Sunday afternoon.

Edward Charles Willis, 67, was last seen on Sunday, April 3, at approximately 2:07 p.m. According to the Long Beach Police Department, Willis was shopping with his family in the area of Fourth Street and Long Beach Boulevard when he walked away and was separated from them.

He is not familiar with Long Beach and may be attempting to return to his home in Sylmar, police said. Willis suffers from a mental condition and may become disoriented.

Willis is 6-foot-3 man, weighs 210 pounds, has gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red short-sleeve t-shirt, blue jeans, black slippers and a silver-colored wristwatch on his left wrist, police said. Willis also has no teeth and was missing his dentures on the day he went missing.
