A motorcyclist who was killed after a crash with a semi-truck on the 710 Freeway Tuesday was identified today, authorities said.

Long Beach resident Eduardo Perez, 22, was identified as the driver of the motorcycle, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities say Perez died at the scene of the crash sometime after 9:30 a.m. when his motorcycle and a semi-truck crashed on the northbound 710 Freeway lanes near Wardlow Road.

Multiple northbound lanes were blocked for several hours Tuesday as the California Highway Patrol conducted an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.

A GoFundMe page was created yesterday by Eduardo’s brother, Jaime Perez-Sanchez, to cover the cost of the funeral services. The page has raised $20,693 of the $25,000 goal as of Thursday afternoon.

“We have lost a happy, wonderful, and amazing soul,” the caption by Perez-Sanchez reads. “May you ride away in paradise.”
