Bicyclist critically hurt in crash with car on Los Coyotes Diagonal

A man was rushed to a local hospital after being hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Los Coyotes Diagonal and Clark Avenue around noon on Thursday, authorities said.

The man had been riding a bicycle across the northbound lanes of Los Coyotes when he was struck, police spokeswoman Shaunna Dandoy said. He had injuries to his upper body.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police, Dandoy said, and detectives do not think drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
