5:45pm | Gallery Expo, an art gallery located in Bixby Knolls, has issued a call for artists for its upcoming Earth Day show.

The theme is “Earth, Wind, Fire and Water,” and the exhibit will run from May 6 – 18, according to information provided by Gallery Expo’s Douglas Orr.

The deadline for submission is April 16, and no late entries will be accepted. Submissions can be e-mailed to [email protected] or physically mailed to 3758 Olive Ave., Long Beach, CA 90807. Submissions that are to be mailed back to the artist must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

The submission fee is $10 per piece submitted in the form of check or money order made out to Douglas Orr and mailed to Gallery Expo, 3758 Olive Ave., Long Beach, CA 90807.

Artists who submit original works will be notified by April 18 if they have been chosen for inclusion in the show. Those who are selected must drop off their artwork on April 22 or 23 between 4 and 8 p.m. Artwork must be picked up May 27 or 28 between 4 and 8 p.m.

An artists’ reception will be held May 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the gallery and will feature live music and refreshments.
