Boat catches fire while fueling at marina Friday afternoon
Long Beach firefighters on Friday extinguished a blaze on a 40-foot power boat at the Shoreline Marina fuel dock before the flames could spread to nearby vessels or the dock, according to authorities.
The boat had caught fire around 1 p.m. while “taking fuel aboard,” according to a Long Beach Fire Department tweet. LBFD spokesman Brian Fisk said investigators are still looking into how exactly the boat caught fire.
