A person was found dead outside the Kim Long Market in Long Beach earlier today, and police are at the scene investigating.

Long Beach Police Department spokesperson Brandon Fahey said police responded to the 300 block of East Anaheim Street at 8:01 a.m. to assist the Long Beach Fire Department, which located the body. It’s unclear at this point whether the death was suspicious or from natural causes.

Police taped off a small section of the parking lot in the shopping center as the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office arrived.

Fahey said homicide detectives arrived at the scene and are investigating the manner of death.
