A body was found in the Los Angeles River on Monday near a boom that is intended to trap trash and debris floating down the waterway.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, authorities were notified about the body, just off the 400 block of South Harbor Scenic Drive, at around 12:30 p.m.
Police said there were no signs of foul play. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.
The person’s name, gender and age were not yet available.
