The Farmers and Merchants Trust Company, which was founded by the owner of Long Beach’s Farmers and Merchants Bank in 1920, announced the opening of a third office in Torrance, expanding its reputation as a local alternative to large financial institutions.

The trust company is the oldest continuously operating one in California and offers full-service traditional personal trust and professional investment management services to clients across Greater Los Angeles. Founded in its current Downtown location on Pine Ave., FMTC expanded to Orange County in 2000 and welcomes this expansion into the South Bay market.

“As one of Southern California’s most established financial institutions, we offer customers outstanding customer service with a commitment to their financial objectives,” recently-tapped Senior Vice President Jeff Hahn said in a press-release. “[This is] a practice that makes up the core of this institution and remains a pivotal aspect to its business philosophy.”

Hahn, a 40 year-resident of South Bay, has more than three generations of history with the organization—his father, his uncle and his great uncle all served on the Farmers and Merchants Bank board— and will be leading the new Torrance office alongside Trust Officer and longtime colleague Connie Jensen.

Together, Hahn and Jensen bring a combined 76 years of wealth management experience to the new FMTC office, which is adjacent to the Farmers and Merchants Bank’s Torrance office on Hawthorne Blvd.
