4:01pm | Thousands of people from across the state will flock to Long Beach in just more than a week for the 112th annual California State PTA Convention, which is offering free entry to its popular exhibitors’ area for one day only.

The free exhibit day at the 2011 convention will be offered on Thursday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Exhibit Hall will feature more than 165 exhibitors, including public, nonprofit and private enterprises, offering services and resources related to school safety, health and fitness, fundraising and education, according to the State PTA.

During the four-day event, which is being held at the Long Beach Convention Center April 28 – May 1, delegates will meet to network, be informed, and vote on policy resolutions that guide the association’s work. The event also includes more than 80 workshops and presentations by experts.

At least 3,500 school volunteers, teachers, school administrators and others are expected at the 112th annual convention of the state’s largest children’s advocacy organization, which boasts nearly 1 million members throughout California.

The general public is granted entry to the Exhibit Hall only. Admission to the hall on Friday, Saturday and Sunday is $150 for the general public and $60 for PTA members.
