Perkowitz + Ruth Architects (P+R), one of Long Beach’s most influential architectural firms, has made a large shift with the hiring of a new Director of Business Development and a new Director of Marketing.
David Sheldon hails from placemaking firm Jerde Partnership, responsible for everything from Vegas’ Bellagio to Santa Monica Place to Namba Parks in Japan. Before Jerde, Sheldon served as a designer for EDAW before it became AECOM in 2009.
Sheldon’s 16 years of experience—spanning from the Netherlands to the States—will be brought to P+R in order to develop and increase connections with prospective clients.
Bee Rarewala has 14 years of experience in marketing, with her two former roles coming from highly influential places: first, her seven years of work with the widely-recognized Yazdani Studio, responsible for the UCSD Price Center and the Gates Vascular Institute. Secondly, her extensive work with SmithGroupJJR, a firm that has been responsible for projects such as the Smithsonian Instution’s National Museum of the American Indian in Washington D.C. and the massive US Department of Energy’s integration facility in Golden, Colorado.
P+R’s influence throughout Long Beach includes the 4th & Linden building which is now home to Lyons Art Supplies, Atlantic Studios, and City Fabrick as well as the much-lauded Senior Arts Colony, which was honored with four major awards last year.
