Louise Ukleja, Executive Director of Opportunity Schools, is the incoming Governing Council Chair for the Ukleja Center for Ethical Leadership at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). An active philanthropist in the local community, Ukleja also serves on the Board of Directors of the 49er Foundation at CSULB and The Winston School in Del Mar, California. She earned a B.A. degree in business administration from Ohio University.

Serving on the Governing Council with Ukleja are Debbie Barrera, David Bowman, Jim Eaton, Cynthia Graff, Phil Hester, Patrick McClenahan, Mike Murray, Dan O’Connor, Donald Para, Debra Russell, Bill Shumard, Michael Solt, and Rosa Zeegers.

“We offer training to students, faculty, and community members to enhance the integration of ethics in everything we do,” said Ukleja. “As a board team, we are committed to strengthening our community by creating a culture that inspires ethical practices.”

Founded in 2005, the Ukleja Center focuses on applied ethics through university research, education, and community outreach.

Across the Curriculum, and Leading the Ethical Organization, a seminar for business leaders offered in partnership with the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. In addition to the Ukleja family, the center’s major supporters include Astro Aluminum Treating Company, Bess J. Hodges Foundation, County of Los Angeles Supervisor Don Knabe, Lindora Clinic, Norris Foundation, SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, Signal Hill Petroleum, and Verizon.
