Carolyn J. Tadeja, RN has been selected as Chief Nurse Executive of St. Mary Medical Center, a Dignity Health Member and leading not-for-profit Catholic medical center in Long Beach.

As a member of the senior leadership team, she is responsible for creating and implementing a strategic plan for Nursing that optimizes patient care and quality outcomes, drives productivity while reducing risk, and ensures consistency with professional and regulatory standards, and St. Mary Medical Center’s mission, vision, and values.

Tadeja has over 20 years of nursing leadership experience with progressive responsibility for operations, quality and systems improvement, as well as financial performance of clinical and support services for acute-care facilities. She has successfully managed patient care and ancillary services integration following two organizational mergers, and during the planning and move to a new patient tower.

Most recently, Tadeja served as Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer for Methodist Hospital of Southern California in Arcadia, where she was responsible for all nursing and cardiology services, risk and utilization management, and quality for a 450-bed acute-care non-profit hospital. She managed more than 1,000 employees and a $95 million operations budget. Previous to this position, she served as Vice President, Patient Care Services for Anaheim Memorial Medical Center, Anaheim, Calif.

Ms. Tadeja holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Fullerton. She is affiliated with the Association of California Nurse Leaders and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She volunteers to help the homeless and serves as a Deacon at her church.
