Dear Public,
The Long Beach Junior Concert Band (LBJCB) is a youth band with kids ages 12- to 21-years-old, having been in existence for 60 years. We have performed in and around Southern and Northern California as well as Hawaii, Japan, and Las Vegas. And, as sad as this is to say, we are in urgent need of a place for the band to rehearse (about 4,000 to 5,000 sq. ft).
The City of Long Beach, which has been providing our current band hall, has informed us that we need to leave our current building by July 16. Yes, that is only four weeks from now. The City is trying to help us find a location but as of this writing, have only been able to provide a location for our trucks and container storage (at Price Transfer). While we are very appreciative of this effort and especially Price Transfer for their generous contribution, we still do not have a band hall. The city, while they are still looking, has informed us that we need to try to find something on our own.
We are a non-profit youth organization with kids from all over the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. The adult leadership of the band is completely volunteer. Not one person is paid or compensated. Please visit our website at www.lbjcb.org for information and history about our group.
We just need a roof over our heads. We practice from 6:00 to 9:00 pm on Thursday evenings . If you have or know of something that we could possible use, please contact us via e-mail at [email protected] or call me at (310) 698-9815.
Sincerely,
Carrie Daquiado
