8:24am | Former Gov. George Deukmejian, Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, the chief financial officer of Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Markets and others are lined up to speak at the International Trade Outlook 2011 on May 18 in Long Beach.
The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp. event, scheduled for 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, will also offer a report on what is expected for trade in 2011-2012, including rising fuel prices and how the Japan disaster will impact the local customs district.
LAEDC Chief Economist Dr. Nancy D. Sidhu will present the annual International Trade Trends & Impacts report, which highlights trade activity for the Southern California’s five-county region.
Other scheduled speakers include James Dibbo, CFO of Fresh & Easy; Long Beach City Councilwoman and Vice Mayor Suja Lowenthal; David Joseph , western regional director of Export-Import Bank; and Stan Strawbridge, managing director of Trade Relations and Port Operations for the Port of Long Beach.
